Somewhere Senator Clinton is working her heart out to change America.

While we were debating amongst ourselves Senator Clinton was working her heart out to ensure our troops come home, that Health care is available, and all the other benefits an Obama Presidency would bring. Meanwhile McCain and his Rovian "proteges" are preparing to stop all this. They are not interested in ending the war without "victory" They won't change
health care except for making sure you can't choose to have an abortion, yet we are talking on Mydd about how Hiliary must be taking great pleasure in Obama being scrutinized. While others are insinuating without a trace of evidence that Obama suporters are shutting down pro Obama blogs that dare to question his actions. If this was the case MYdd would be the first to be shut down. While other diaries imply he might be an anti abortionist. The latest "Talking Points" by McCain focus on you can't believe a word Obama says he's a "typical politician" that treated Senator Clinton unfairly and who won't end the war. The Republicans would love to instill division within our party and of course this is their strategy. This is why I admire Senator Clinton so much she has her eyes on the prize. For her changing America far outweighs any personal goals. Let's keep debating the issues but let's not forget Rove, McCain, Bush and the America they have created.

What would they accomplish with a third term. It's unthinkable!
But it's possible! As Democrats and Independents I ask you who is the enemy? For me it's so clear and yet we act as if we have time to belittle our great candidate. The big hit on Senator Obama is he's "inexperienced" well maybe we should actually try and help him instead of sitting by watching to see how he isn't living up to our personal expectations. Believe me once he's elected I will be the first to "hold his feet to the fire" I know one thing he won't accomplish anything if we don't get him elected. None of us know what he will really accomplish until he's elected this goes for any candidate. So to judge tactics and strategies to ensure being elected is folly. For me there is one candidate and he is a unique individual who needs our support. There is no alternative.

Believe me once he's elected I will be the first to "hold his feet to the fire"

I totally get your diary, but that above quote bothers me in ways I cannot even begin to describe.

I think feet should be held to the fire during all stages, not just after you win - because I think it smacks of hypocrisy if you wait.

Obama should not be taking his base lightly.  Sure, I get the pandering - but my god, pander like Hillary did - no one got "that" upset with the gas tax holiday - hell, Obama voted for it 3 times when he was an IL state senator.

But don't pander on the core principles of the democratic platform.

Re: Somewhere Senator Clinton is working her heart (2.00 / 1)

Thank you for your reply. I think I basically agree with what you are saying but in the end we will never know what a candidate will really do unless we elect him or her. I agree the candidate should always be aware of what is important to us.
I guess I'm talking more about the sniping and innuendo. Point Taken I think too we are putting more pressure on our candidate than McCain. Look at the diaries. How many are attacking McCain. Again I appreciate the feedback.

You people need to (none / 0)

take responsibility for the mess you created.

The Republicans would love to instill division within our party and of course this is their strategy.

The division occurred during this primary and you have nobody to blame but yourselves and your candidate.

Re: You people need to (2.00 / 1)

Of course... it's all the fault of Obama and his supporters.  Sen. Clinton's supporters are blameless and pure as the fresh-driven snow.  If Obama had not actually contested the primary and just let Sen. Clinton win, our party would be so united...

Re: You people need to (none / 0)

The devision was to be expected.  You can't get a group of people who all want the same thing together and give them two choices.  I think this a great example of what can happen when you bring passion into politics.  If we as voters went along with apathy we are known for, none of this would have happened.

I don't think we can blame Obama or Hilary or their supporters for this.  There is a division but its only because people are too set in their opinions of one versus the other.  What is wrong is the entire mentality of "well, Hilary didn't win so I am voting for McCain".  People just need to get over themselves.

Hillary is working hard for change. (none / 0)

But she's laughing, too.  She can do two things at once.

Another Clintonista against John McCain

Politicalslave, I think it's safe to say (none / 0)

that you and I get along well. I like you, and I think you're a valuable member of this site. I agree with most of your diary and would rec it if not for the reference to canadian gal's diary. I know you two have had it out, but I think you should know that she's definitely not a troll. She's a smart lady and one of my dearest online friends. I value her opinion very much, and I hope you will trust me well enough to consider revising your opinion of her.

Again, I agree with most of what you said. I'm also dismayed with part of the rec list.

Re: Politicalslave, I think it's safe to say (none / 0)

As you know I have a high opinion of you and I will take that into consideration. Please note I have Reccomended as well when warranted but 99% of
the Diaries in my opinion are a "cute" way of bashing our candidate. She is a very smart writer I have no doubt that believe me. I would ask you to reread her last diary which you said you would like to reccomend 10 times Why? She supplies no proof but as your friend of course you believe her. Please look at my comments and then judge. Thank you Sriki I appreciate your input.

I don't think she was saying (none / 0)

anything bad about the Obama campaign itself, and that's the important thing. Also, I agree with her point that no one should be hunted down IRL. That sort of thing is very disturbing to me...

I don't agree with everything she says, and I know she doesn't agree with everything I say. Nevertheless, I always appreciate what she writes. And thank you for listening. There are a lot of people around here who just hit things off the wrong way. I've got some people I expect I'll never get along with, too.
